Coke Drops "Classic": Update
While meant to signal change, this move could better be interpreted as culturally conservative. The “Classic” tag was the constant reminder of a failed experiment—one where Marketing overcame good sense. So dropping the word now is a rejection of change, a call for going back to basics. Stick with the classics and you never have to call anything “Classic” to begin with.
